Cam's travels have taken him to the Tami Islands of Papua New Guinea, the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming, the hill towns of Umbria, the wild rivers of Tasmania, the marine parks of Sulawesi, the fiords of southwest New Zealand, the ski slopes of Utah, the bicycle paths of the Mosel valley and the rock'n'roll bars of Austin Texas. A journalist's sense of propriety forbids him having a 'favourite place', but under duress he might admit to a romantic attachment to Italy and almost everything in it, a goggling wonder at the treasures of ancient Egypt, and an abiding affection for England (yep, England) as well as Bali. His love affair with America, first kindled in 1990, is still going strong, and the more he writes about his home patch of Australia, the more he finds to be amazed at. As something of a specialist in outdoors/adventure travel, Cam can usually find a plausible reason for being in the mountains, or the rainforest, or the desert, or the ocean.
Cam lives in Sydney, where his days start more often than not with a run and swim at Coogee Beach.
